Pepper Spray
I guess that when I read the pages of the newspapers or browse the Internet and learn of the violent nature of this country, it never ceases to amaze me that people won’t take responsibility for themselves and get some non lethal protection.
I emphisize non lethal protection, because no matter how great the threat, the idea of taking someones life if repulsive. The bottom line is to protect yourself, neutralize the threat and get out of harms way.
I guess that’s where pepper spray comes to mind and the various ways it will protect you.
With pepper spray you will never have to come into contact with your assailant or agitator. A good safe distance of around eight feet will do the trick and your trouble maker will be on his or her way.
To bring a handgun into this mix is just not one of your better ideas. In the first place, if you arent ready to shoot to kill, the bad guy just might take the thing away from you and you’ll be staring down the barrel or your own weapon. If you do shoot you must be completely aware of your surroundings. A bullet doesn’t have a brain and it could travel for miles before lodging into someting, perhaps an innocent bystander.
Pepper Spray is the safe alternative to a handgun, you will disable your attacker, and in case you miss, you get another shot and no one is the worse off.
Remember, you are responsible for your own safety on these “mean streets”.
